摘要: The study determined the prevalence of food insecurity and its sociodemographic determinants among Afghan immigrants in two major cities Iran. This cross-sectional was conducted on a sample 310 adult females from immigrant households Tehran (n=155) Mashhad (n=155), who were recruited through multistage sampling. Data collected face-to-face interviews, using questionnaire. Food security measured by locally-adapted Household Insecurity Access Scale. More than 60% suffered moderate-to-severe insecurity, 37% mildly food-insecure while about 23% food-secure. significantly more prevalent female-headed households, whose head spouse had lower level education, belonged to Sunni sect, those with illegal residential status, unemployment/low job not owning their house, low socioeconomic status (SES), living Mashhad. Prevalence relatively high calls for need develop community strategies ensuring short- long-term health.
