摘要: Abstract Dark flow fields on the jovian satellite Io are evidence of current or recent volcanic activity. We have examined darkest and quantified their thermal emission in order to assess contribution Io’s total heat flow. Loki Patera, largest single source Io, is a convenient point reference. find that dark more common hemisphere opposite Patera this large scale concentration manifested as maximum longitudinal distribution (near ∼200 °W), consistent with USGS global geologic mapping results. In spite relatively cool temperatures, contribute almost much itself because larger areal extent. As group, provide an asymmetric component ∼5% ∼5 × 1012 W.
