摘要: Evidence suggests that built environments will need to function under climatic conditions different from the recent past. Observed warming temperatures and changes in precipitation already suggest historical observations personal experience may not be reliable guides future conditions. Yet, uncertainties remain about conditions, particularly at local regional scales where land use planning decisions are made. Faced with this uncertainty, responding climate change require identifying key vulnerabilities of environment developing adaptive strategies for reducing risk harmful impacts. One area potential vulnerability is stormwater management. Increased due could exacerbate impairment surface waters increases runoff. This study considers effectiveness low impact development, specifically compact development decreased impervious cover, impacts on water changing patterns.
