Highly sensitive and selective naked-eye detection of Cu2+ in aqueous medium by a ninhydrin–quinoxaline derivative

摘要: Abstract A simple ninhydrin–quinoxaline based colorimetric receptor 1 was designed, synthesized and characterized. The same exhibited high sensitivity selectivity towards Cu 2+ in aqueous medium (ethanol:H 2 O, 1:9, v/v) over a wide variation of cations such as Na + , Mg Al 3+ Co Fe Ni Zn Cd Hg Pb . addition to the solution gave clear colour change from olive green pink. detection limit found be 3.43 × 10 −7  M which is probably lowest one for an by any naked-eye till date. specificity along with control compound were investigated detail. This only second report where ninhydrin used construction sensor.
