Relationship between depressive disorders and personality traits: the value of the alternative five factor model

摘要: Many studies have examined the relationship between personality and depressive disorders. However, findings been heterogeneous many gaps in current understanding of their links remain. To gain a deeper comprehension depression, it might be advisable to focus on lower levels (traits) hierarchy. In this context, present study aims: 1) describe profile treatment-seeking outpatients diagnosed with disorders by comparing them control group, 2) explore specific contribution Alternative Five Factor Model identifying We used case-control design sample 315 adult participants. tested for clinical specificity dimensional profile, randomly matching 105 cases 210 controls from general population sample. The group scored higher than Neuroticism-Anxiety Activity Sociability. only high low discriminated both groups were significantly associated diagnosis disorder.
