摘要: Metabolic bone diseases (MBDs) are a common presenting complaint in reptiles and amphibians to veterinarians; however, understanding of the causes diagnostic treatment options is often extrapolated from human or other mammalian medicine models. Although roles UV-B, calcium, phosphorus, cholecalciferol better understood some MBDs, there remain many X factors that not. Likewise, quantitative diagnosis MBDs has been difficult not only terms staging disease but also regarding whether condition present. Treatment present challenges corrective husbandry diet modifications, medication/modality selection, dosing/regimen parameters.
