摘要: Behavioral and morphological characters, as well DNA hybridization sequencing data strongly suggests that New Old World Psittacidae evolved independently, supporting the tribe status for American species (Arini). However, genera relationships within this group remain poorly known, convergence was detected in various which could lead to artificial classifications. Most authors have subdivided Arini 2 monophyletic groups based on comparative length of tail, what is still controversial. In paper we are describing first time karyotypes Pionites leucogaster Pionopsitta pileata, both short-tail presented same karyotypical pattern only previously observed long-tail genera. The remarkable dichotomy by Neotropical emphasize existence distinct tribe. Nevertheless, P. pileata species, generalization long not valid represent these monophyletical groups, there occurs tail morphology character.
