摘要: The binturong Arctictis is a threatened carnivore (Mammalia) that ranges throughout the forests of South-east Asia. This study evaluates genetic diversity captive populations in European zoos and attempts to assess their geographic origin. We sequenced hypervariable region 1 mitochondrial control 56 binturongs, among which 20 had known showed at least two distinct clades exist were able clade individuals belong. Moreover, low was observed population zoos. Although our results are preliminary, zoo managers should consider evolutionary significant units identified by this study, correspond recognized sub-species, when planning reproduction programs.
