摘要: Objectives: The primary objective of the study was to estimate prevalence depression among female sex workers (FSWs) eastern Nepal. secondary search for an association between depression, violence and HIV risk behaviour. Design: Cross-sectional/observational study. Study setting: This carried out in five cities Nepal (Dharan, Itahari, Biratnagar, Damak Birtamode). Both restaurant-based street-based FSWs were recruited Participants: Women who had been involved commercial activity past 6 months gave informed consent included Primary outcome measure: A score more than or equal 16 on Centre Epidemiological Studies Depression (CESD) scale considered as depression. Methodology: Face-to-face interviews conducted with respondents sought through a snowball sampling technique. Information regarding their status, high-risk behaviour recorded. estimated sample size 210. Results: We interviewed 210 (both restaurantbased street-based). 82.4%. experienced times likely be depressed those not victims violence. odds six higher any compared involved. Conclusions: present reports high behaviours mental health should also regarded important aspect prevention efforts which can help promote overall this population.
