摘要: The levels of mercury, cadmium, lead, copper, nickel, zinc and iron were determined in samples liver, kidney, skeletal muscle, heart, lungs hair moose (N = 67), reindeer 45), brown bear 18), wild boar 10) squirrel 18) shot Karelia from 1989 to 1991 during regular hunting. highest heavy-metal concentrations found livers, samples. muscle contained lowest these elements. tissues moose, contaminated with heavy metals a greatest extent. Lowest toxicants recorded boar. Results indicate widespread presence metal the environment wildlife, which may be linked acid precipitation. There was no evidence elements accumulated toxic levels, but Karelian public have been informed that eating liver kidney would probably result their exceeding WHO standard weekly intake limit for cadmium.
