摘要: Fatty acid-binding protein (FABP) is a relatively small (14–15 kD) that abundantly present in the soluble cytoplasm of almost all tissue cells, including those from cardiac and skeletal muscles. Upon muscle injury FABP released damaged cells into blood plasma, similar to well-established release under such circumstances other proteins, as creatine kinase, lactate dehydrogenase myoglobin. This fording indicates possibility using plasma marker monitor occurrence extent injury. Research performed by several groups during last decade has revealed useful for early detection general, acute myocardial infarction (AMI) particular. In this chapter, biochemistry will be reviewed, followed description its characteristics injured relation discussion application routine clinical practice.
