Effect of cenosphere content on the compressive deformation behaviour of aluminum-cenosphere hybrid foam

摘要: Abstract Al-cenosphere closed cell hybrid foams (HFs) of varying relative densities were made by melt foaming method through stir casting technique. In order to investigate the effect cenosphere content on compressive deformation behaviour HFs, amounts cenospheres (18, 25, 30 and 35 vol%) was used as thickening agent CaH2 (0.6 wt% alloy) agent. Two types pores come in this foam: (i) micropores due hollow (ii) macropores entrapment gas generated. The results showed that particles uniformly distributed wall. It noted addition improved yield strength, plateau stress, energy absorption capacity up a 30 vol% cenosphere. Further increase leads reduction stress HFs. is interestingly densification strain almost invariant volume fraction. Attempts are also empirically correlate response with fraction density.
