摘要: To determine whether the high frequency of obesity in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCO) is related to a defect energy expenditure, resting metabolic rate (RMR) and thermic response standard meal were compared 10 obese PCO women, nine but otherwise normal 11 lean women. All groups matched respect age fat-free mass two for degree obesity. RMR was measured by indirect calorimetry 3 h on days: (1) postabsorptive state; (2) after 720 kcal (3014 kJ) liquid mixed meal. The effect food, calculated as postprandial minus fasting RMR, significantly greater [52.9 +/- 5.5 kcal/3 (221 23 kJ/3 h)] than [17.2 5.1 (72 21 [22.8 5.2 (95 22 kJ/3)], P less 0.001). food negatively percent body fat (r = -0.694, Resting did not differ among three groups, strongly 0.687, These results confirm previous reports blunted thermogenesis individuals, provide no evidence altered or similar
