摘要: This study assessed the impact of Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT) on vocal loudness [sound pressure level (SPL)] in a group dysarthric individuals with idiopathic Parkinson's disease (IPD). Pre- to post-treatment changes SPL treated were compared voice during same time two control groups: IPD not LSVT and non-disordered individuals, age-matched patients. All subjects produced speech tasks--sustaining vowel phonation, reading "Rainbow Passage," producing short monologue, describing picture. These tasks recorded at three different occasions: just prior treatment, after 6 months following treatment. The increased from baseline by an average 8 dB follow-up dB. statistically significant perceptibly audible. No observed groups corresponding treatment follow-up. Differences between untreated patients for all tasks. findings, along others, provide additional support efficacy LSVT.
