摘要: Polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) are nowadays considered competent candidates to replace traditional plastics in several market sectors. However, commercial PHA materials exhibit unsatisfactory smells that can negatively affect the quality of final product. The cause this typical rancid odour is attributed oxidized cell membrane glycolipids, coming from Gram-negative production strains, which remain frequently attached PHAs granules after extraction stage. aim research development customised bio-nano-composites for industrial applications containing organomodified nanoclays with high adsorbance properties able capture volatile compounds responsible displeasing fragrance. To end, a methodology detection and identification key volatiles released due oxidative degradation has been established using headspace solid-phase microextraction technique. We report nine bio-nano-composite based on three types matrices loaded species represent different polar behaviour. It demonstrated although reached outcoming effect depends nature, natural sepiolite might result most versatile candidate any selected.
