Toughening of Nylon-6 by Semicrystalline Poly(vinylidene fluoride): Role of Phase Transformation and Fibrillation of Dispersed Particles

摘要: Superior toughness has been achieved in the nylon-6/PVDF blends with semicrystalline PVDF component as dispersed particles. Morphological observations on impact tested specimens unambiguously reveal formation of voids and microfibrils across fracture surface, suggesting that some extent plastic deformation occurs within ductile It is further confirmed by structural evolution at crack tips through micro-FTIR studies quasi-static stretching precracked films. During α → β phase transformation particles first takes place, followed extensive fibrillation new-formed β-crystals. believed β-crystals are responsible for enhancement good interfacial adhesion.
