Enhanced electroactive and mechanical properties of poly(vinylidene fluoride) by controlling crystallization and interfacial interactions with low loading polydopamine coated BaTiO3

摘要: Poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) is a semi-crystalline polymer and the polar beta-phase of PVDF shows superb electroactive properties. In order to enhance PVDF, extreme low content BaTiO3 nanoparticles (BT-NPs) coated with polydopamine (Pdop) were incorporated into matrix by solution casting. The resulting nanocomposites film was dramatically increased d(33) value reached 34.3 +/- 0.4 pCN(-1). It found that Pdop layer could improve dispersibility stability BT NPs in endow good dispersity matrix. Moreover, interfacial interaction between chains surface BT-Pdop (BT-Pdop NPs) revealed, which CF2 groups on interact electron-rich plane aromatic ring moiety. This interaction, led increase crystallization activation energy as derived from DSC nonisothermal measurement. alpha-beta crystal transformation, organization interactions well prevention agglomeration BT-NPs confer improvement mechanical thermal properties such toughness, tensile strength, elongation at break, conductivity. 2015 Elsevier Inc.
