摘要: The overall objective of this work was to evaluate the evolution microstructure and rheology a lubricating grease during its manufacturing process. With aim, lithium greases were prepared by inducing saponification reaction between 12-hydroxystearic acid hydrated hydroxide within naphtenic oil medium, applying controlled-temperature programme. process followed through mixing rheometry technique measuring torque with processing time. Samples incipient finished taken from stirred tank at different times. Rheological (linear viscoelasticity viscous flow) mechanical stability tests, as well morphological studies, carried out on each sample. changes found in have been related soap concentration reacting mixture, waxy transition high temperatures further cooling steps. From experimental results obtained, we may conclude that suitable is highly structured system, based development three-dimensional network due presence metallic crystallites.
