摘要: Abstract Concrete filled steel tubular (CFST) members has its successive footprints in the construction industry, owing to high load carrying capacity, improved ductile performance, large energy absorption capacity etc. CFST column own advantages like maximizing useable floor area and minimizing need of formwork. In this research work, experiments are carried out on 8 circular columns with 60 mm diameter 2.5 mm thickness. The parameters varied height (960 mm, 900 mm, 840 mm 750 mm) in-filled materials normal strength concrete concrete. study mainly focused analysing codal provisions Eurocode4, ACI AS codes experimental results. From study, influence slenderness ratio over effect confinement is observed evaluated. As provision seems be too conservative predicting compressive behaviour columns, a modified approach derived. analytical expression predicted by simplified method applicable for L/D varies from 13 16.
