摘要: This paper reviews the research and development activities conducted over past few decades on carbon fibers. The two most important precursors in fiber industry are polyacrylonitrile (PAN) mesophase pitch (MP). structure composition of precursor affect properties resultant fibers significantly. Although essential processes for production similar, different require processing conditions order to achieve improved performance. efforts process optimization discussed this review. review also attempts cover other materials developed mainly purpose cost reduction.
