摘要: The aim of this study was to compare the efficiency ornithine alpha-ketoglutarate (OKG) and glutamine supplementation in an experimental model denutrition that provides well-characterized disturbances amino acid patterns. Male Wistar rats (187 +/- 11 g; five each group) were starved for 3 days then refed 7 with oral diet (192 kcal kg-1.day-1 2.25 g nitrogen kg-1.day-1), supplemented 0.19 form OKG, glutamine, or casein (control group). Food deprivation induced a fall most tissue acids, notable exception muscle leucine liver glutamate, which increased by 43% (p < .01), 11% .05), respectively. main effect OKG seen viscera, normalization pools (including proline branched-chain acids) small bowel liver. observed muscle, pools. We conclude that, doses used, act different target tissues, ie, splanchnic areas
