摘要: Introduction. Dengue fever is a major public health problem in New Caledonia, like many Pacific Islands Countries and territories. In 2017 Caledonia faced multiple circulations of arboviruses with outbreak dengue co-circulating Zika virus. considered as non-endemic territory for measles since the mid 1990’s. Case presentation. A 41-year-old male presented fever, headache, sinusitis exanthematous maculopapular rash. clinical diagnosis arbovirus was first suspected due to local epidemic context. few days later patient admitted main hospital. The real time RT-PCR virus were negative on blood sample. drug reaction eosinophilia systemic symptoms (DRESS) syndrome other infectious diseases including then suspected. ELISA tests positive IgM equivocal IgG. throat swab immediately shipped reference laboratory nucleic acid testing. After week, recovered presence RNA confirmed. No secondary cases reported among contacts source his infection could not be ascertained. Conclusion. Diagnosis during an country where disease rare can pitfall healthcare professionals. introduction via returned travellers or tourists from areas remains endemic threat countries high vaccine coverage.
