摘要: We review applications of the Quality Well-Being (QWB) scale for use in studies human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-infected patients. The QWB is a preference-weighted decision theory-based measure that summarizes outcomes terms quality-adjusted life years (QALYs). In order to validate HIV-infected patients, was administered University California, San Diego (UCSD) HIV Neural Behavioral Research Center (HNRC). Data are presented cohort 400 HIV-positive-infected men and 114 HIV-uninfected male controls. evidence suggests significant prospective predictor mortality. concurrently associated with number CD4+ lymphocytes ratings neurological impairment based upon clinical evaluations. Further, related neuropsychological assessments derived from formal tests cognitive functioning. Neuropsychological impairments may be income loss affected scores were lower among patients depression. conclude an appropriate general health outcome observational trials disease.
