Berenike Crossroads: The Integration of Information

摘要: The harbor town of Berenike functioned in the long-distance trade between Mediterranean and Indian Ocean Basin from third century BC to early sixth AD. This contribution aims view material within its wider historical context through a preliminary analysis combined archaeological textual evidence. By comparing results work different specialists, potential multi-disciplinary approach becomes apparent. A number caveats are given, which illustrate interpretative problems arising disciplines. Lastly, this attempt at integration shows that discrepancies sources offer important insights.
