Berenike Crossroads: The Integration of Information

摘要: The harbor town of Berenike functioned in the long-distance trade between Mediterranean and Indian Ocean Basin from third century BC to early sixth AD. This contribution aims view material within its wider historical context through a preliminary analysis combined archaeological textual evidence. By comparing results work different specialists, potential multi-disciplinary approach becomes apparent. A number caveats are given, which illustrate interpretative problems arising disciplines. Lastly, this attempt at integration shows that discrepancies sources offer important insights. Le port maritime de fonctionnait dans le commerce longue distance entre la Mediterranee et bassin Mer des Indes depuis troisieme siecle avant JC jusqu'au debut du sixieme apres JC. Cette examine materiel un contexte plus large par une analyse preliminaire croisant donnees archeologiques textuelles. En comparant les resultats proposes plusieurs specialistes, potentiel travail multidisciplinaire devient evident. Un nombre est presente pour illustrer problemes d'interpretation, provenant comparaisons Enfin, cet essai d'integration montre que divergences offre apercus importants.
