摘要: This study presents evidence supporting the view that preoptic area (POA) projections through ventral tegmental (VTA) to lower brainstem regions are important for maternal behavior in postpartum rats. Experiment 1 demonstrated bilateral coronal knife cuts posterior VTA disrupted behavior, and 2 a similar disruption when unilateral cut severed lateral connections of medial POA was paired with contralateral VTA. In final anatomical experiment using horseradish peroxidase histochemistry, it shown do sever efferents. However, such other ascending descending pathways as well, these may also be involved control.
