摘要: We developed and validated an agar gel immunodiffusion test (AGID) for the diagnosis of equine infectious anemia (EIA) using as antigen p26 protein virus (EIAV) produced in Escherichia coli expression system. The rp26-AGID showed excellent diagnostic relative sensitivity (100%) specificity compared to a commercial AGID assay when 1855 field serum samples were analyzed. In addition, demonstrated be precise with repeatability reproducibility. analytical trial, positive sera nearly same endpoint dilutions both tests. No positive-reactions observed 35 antibodies related other endemic agents also severely hemolysed samples, demonstrating that has specificity. Complete concordance blind previous results from five proficiency panels confirmed capability accurate detection EIAV antibodies. This is first time recombinant able identify infections been standardized Argentina according international guidelines. Taking into account obtained, p26-AGID could adopted official method control EIA this country.
