摘要: A comparative evaluation of three washing methods for removing exogenous elemental contamination from fetal scalp hair is described. total 12 samples, including 6 normal pregnancies and abruptio placentae (AP) cases, were used. Each was divided into four subsamples, with one left unwashed comparison, while subjected to the methods. The first consisted agitating 5 min in sequential equal measures (30 ml) acetone water, followed by rinsing acetone, process repeated twice. In second third, agitated 30 aqueous solutions sodium lauryl sulfate (0.5%, w/v), Triton X-100 v/v), respectively, deionized water acetone. After drying microwave-assisted digestion concentrated nitric acid, subsamples' concentrations zinc, copper, cadmium, lead, mercury selenium determined using inductively coupled mass spectrometry. All washed irrespective method used, had lower than corresponding, subsamples. These differences, taken as presumptive indicators contamination, showed only small variations (<5%) between methods, element, mode delivery, obstetric outcome. However, levels elicited each varied magnitude according individual elements, those copper being highest, mercury, selenium, lead. They also outcome, highest AP pregnancy group, zinc subsamples neonates delivered elective caesarean section higher normal-delivery neonates. data this study suggest that used have comparable efficacies hair, further inferring it probably a simple biological matrix decontaminate. Possible contributory factors are discussed contrasted affecting adult hair.
