Spontaneous vaginal delivery or caesarean section? What do Turkish women think?

摘要: The aim of this study was to describe women's feelings, attitudes and beliefs about different modes childbirth. A descriptive cross-sectional conducted at the obstetrics clinics Ege University Dr Ekrem Hayri Ustundag Obstetrics Gynaecology Hospital in Izmir, Turkey. Three-hundred forty-two women who had given birth via spontaneous vaginal delivery (SVD) or caesarean section (C/S) between June December 2009 voluntarily agreed participate. Fifty-seven per cent participants were aged 20-24. Sixty (n = 205) undergone C/S during their last delivery; among these women, method 90% 185) decided by doctors, whereas remaining 10% 20) made decision themselves with partners. Sixty-three 250) underwent said that if they gave again, would prefer deliver SVD. Eighty-eight 300) wanted legal right choose method. Although rate high, most stated choice, a SVD another child.
