摘要: Production of butyrate has been studied in continuous cultures Clostridium tyrobutyricum. acids, gases and cell biomass were determined under conditions glucose limitation by varying either the input or dilution rate. Addition acetate to was also tested. The results led proposition that inhibition acids acting as incouplers energy production could provide a physiological explanation for most phenomena observed. It readily accounted higher productivities but lower product concentrations obtained culture with respect batch fed-batch conditions. explained decrease ratios total yield observed at well behaviour excess glucose. possibly account partial conversion added moderate growth rates.
