摘要: There is increasing interest in quasi-experimental research to evaluate whether actions taken improve air quality will benefit public health. We conducted a study inflammatory response changes during the 2014 Nanjing Youth Olympics China. repeatedly measured 8 biomarkers of systemic inflammation 31 healthy adults and obtained hourly pollutant concentrations from nearby fixed-site monitoring station. used linear mixed-effect models examine associations between blood biomarkers. Air decreased apparently Olympics. Concomitantly, we observed significant decreases levels soluble cluster differentiation 40 (CD40) ligand interleukin 1β (geometric means ratios were 0.45 0.24, respectively) pre-Olympic period intra-Olympic period. Afterwards, C-reactive protein vascular cell adhesion molecule 1 increased significantly ratios were 2.22 1.29, post-Olympic Fine particulate matter ozone were associated with CD40 ligand, P-selectin, 1β, intercellular 1, 1. Other pollutants showed positive but nonsignificant associations. Our indicated that reduced pollution, especially fine ozone, was alleviated adults.
