摘要: One of the most intriguing aspects polyamine biology is considerable diversity their functions in cell. The involvement polyamines such a multiplicity parallel activities obviously requires mechanisms for regulation concentrations various intracellular compartments. Much progress has been made our understanding homeostasis, and it now clear that antizymes (AZ) are major players regulating size cellular pools through feedback inhibition exerted by these proteins on ornithine decarboxylase (ODC) activity levels, uptake (1). However, current view how distributed throughout cytoplasm nucleus after synthesis severely limited. problem microcompartmentalization especially important eukaryotic cells, where expected to simultaneously act cytosol (e.g., ribosomes), close vicinity plasma membrane ion channel gating), membrane-bound organelles nucleus, mitochondria).
