Few studies have taken into account the interdependence components of diet their possible interactions. aim study was examine associations dietary patterns risk adenoma recurrence in European fibre-calcium intervention trial. They were called 'Mediterranean', 'Sweets snacks' 'High fat proteins' patterns. None them significantly related overall either univariate or multivariate analyses. women, 'Western' 'Snacks' explained 21.9% 'Mediterranean' pattern characterized by high consumption olive oil, vegetables, fruit, fish lean meat reduced [second tertile: adjusted odds ratio (OR)=0.50, 95% confidence interval (CI)=0.18-1.42; third OR=0.30, CI=0.09-0.98; P for linear trend=0.04]. not associated among women. conclusion, this suggests that Mediterranean may reduce adenomas, least These exploratory results need be larger studies.
