摘要: The phosphoinositides (PIs) function as efficient and finely tuned switches that control the assembly–disassembly cycles of complex molecular machineries with key roles in membrane trafficking. This important role PIs is mainly due to their versatile nature, which turn determined by fast metabolic interconversions. can be tightly regulated both spatially temporally through many PI kinases (PIKs) phosphatases are distributed throughout different intracellular compartments. In spite enormous progress made past 20 years towards definition details PI–protein interactions regulatory mechanisms individual PIKs phosphatases, issues concerning general principles organisation system coordination PI-metabolising enzymes remain addressed. answers should come from applying a systems biology approach study system, integration analyses protein interaction data targets those ‘phenomes' genetic diseases involve these enzymes.
