摘要: Ulcerative colitis affects differing lengths of the colon and rectum. Surgical treatment is considered curative when entire rectum removed. However, surgical ulcerative should only be pursued for additional complicating factors disease. In addition, current physiologic status as well patient's desire to retain intestinal continuity considered. This article outlines indications in patients with colitis, various options, techniques used accomplish these goals.
