Objectives:  vulnerability-stress theories have recently been extended to disorder by suggesting that an activation negative cognition might lead depressive mood and positive manic episodes. Alternatively, the defense hypothesis claims states are not opposite depression but rather contain similar underlying cognitions. objective this study was further evaluate these examining cognitive patterns hypomania. Methods:  We compared 15 patients, 26 remitted 21 healthy individuals a cross-sectional study. All participants completed Dysfunctional Attitude Scale, Attributional Style Questionnaire, Emotional Stroop Task, Auditory Verbal Learning Test. Results:  Hypomanic showed cognitions associated with as well states. results for patients paralleled those control group. Conclusion:  seems relate state than trait. Hypomania includes depression-related mania-related can therefore be considered mere depression.
