Content-specificity of dysfunctional cognitions for patients with bipolar mania versus unipolar depression: a preliminary study.

摘要: Objective:  Dysfunctional beliefs or cognitions are considered to be fundamental both the phenomenology and pathogenesis of depression. However, cognitive aspects mania have not been as thoroughly investigated. We sought compare maladaptive 23 bipolar manic hypomanic patients, 28 patients with unipolar major depression, 24 normal adults. Method:  The Cognition Checklist for Mania (CCL-M) was used assess beliefs. This 61-item self-report instrument is scored seven subscales measuring (a) self-importance, (b) interpersonal grandiosity, (c) inappropriate spending, (d) excitement risk-taking, (e) frustrations, (f) goal-driven activity, (g) past future outlooks on life, also yields a total score. Results:  mean CCL-M score bipolar-manic significantly higher than unipolar-depressed patients’ that adults. scores memories expectations were patients. Conclusions:  Bipolar-manic endorse associated more do implications early identification prodromal states mania, psychotherapeutic interventions, discussed.
