摘要: Input-output economics has become a popular tool to analyse the international fragmentation of value chains, especially now that several multi-regional tables cover large parts global economy have available. It been argued these tables, when analysed with help input-output toolbox, can provide better insights about chains than be obtained by case studies individual chains. We argue there are problems related aggregated nature table may lead distortions and biases in aggregate picture is analysis. There three main sources behind distortion static decompositions chains: average added output ratios emergence production cycles process aggregating into single table, characteristic so-called inverse Leontief matrix even out distribution. an overview how work, under wide range circumstances, methods tend overstate contribution final sector chain. also show this bias does not vanish we compare at two different points time.
