摘要: The detection of electrons from the surface interaction Rydberg hydrogen atoms and molecules at a metal is investigated experimentally for first time. experimental an electron signal in time gate corresponding to when or are expected collide with provides evidence previously proposed backscattered loss (So et al 2009 Phys. Rev. A 79 012901) as route ionization under electron-extraction fields. Comparison ion- results shows that dynamics states approach very different two cases, leading possible control electronic polarization initially prepared state traversal level crossings during trajectory. difference observed H H2 cases also illustrates some fundamental differences between atomic molecular, hydrogenic non-hydrogenic systems.
