摘要: Dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEAS) improves memory retention when administered peripherally. Estrone-3-O-sulfamate (EMATE), a steroid sulfatase inhibitor, potentiates the effect of DHEAS on such that lower doses improve retention. It is not clear if this mediated by both compounds entering central nervous system. In current studies, mice were trained to avoid footshock in T-maze and was tested 1 week later. DHEAS, injected into hippocampus after training, improved dose-dependent manner. previous pregnenolone (PREGS) hippocampus.
