摘要: The invention relates to a method discover Optical Network Units (ONU) with different speed capabilities in an Ethernet Passive (EPON) by Line Termination (OLT), where logical links the network are identified Logical Link IDs, and OLT can transmit receive data lGbit/s-speed (IG) 10 Gbit/s-speed (10G), discovery process is handled Multi Point Con¬ trol Process (MPCP), which exchanges messages as Data (MPCPDU) ONUs. This achieved extending standard MPCPDUs way, that backward compatability as- sured.
