摘要: Background The results of a preliminary study designed to evaluate swallowing function in patients 1 year after successful treatment head and neck carcinomas with radiotherapy are reported. Methods Movement the velum, hyoid, larynx, tongue base, posterior pharyngeal wall were objectively assessed by dynamic videofluoroscopy. Mean values each parameter measured from group compared normative data 60 normal control subjects. The patient was divided based on location primary tumor an attempt correlate effect swallowing. Results Hyoid displacement decreased hyoid elevated maximally independent bolus size, unlike subjects, whom increased increases size. Patients base tumors demonstrated constriction larynx pharynx/nasopharynx tumors. Conclusions A generalized decrease mobility structures is radiotherapy. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
