摘要: Helicobacter pylori is the primary cause of peptic ulcer disease and an etiologic agent in development gastric cancer. H. infection curable with regimens multiple antimicrobial agents, resistance a leading treatment failure. The Antimicrobial Resistance Monitoring Program (HARP) prospective, multicenter U.S. network that tracks national incidence rates resistance. Of 347 clinical isolates collected from December 1998 through 2002, 101 (29.1%) were resistant to one agent, 17 (5%) two or more agents. Eighty-seven (25.1%) metronidazole, 45 (12.9%) clarithromycin, 3 (0.9%) amoxicillin. On multivariate analysis, black race was only significant risk factor (p < 0.01, hazard ratio 2.04) for strain. Formulating pretreatment screening strategies providing alternative therapeutic high-risk populations may be important future practice.
