摘要: Objective Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography may be useful in the diagnosis and management of biliary system parasites. Material methods Investigators retrospectively evaluated patients with parasites who underwent endoscopic procedures over an eight-year period. We collected data regarding patient demographics, clinical features, parasite type. aimed to determine utility as a diagnostic therapeutic intervention Results identified 22 from total 3,450 performed during Parasite types included Echinococcus granulosus (n=19), Fasciola hepatica (n=2), Ascaris lumbricoides (n=1). Fifteen liver hydatid cysts prior surgery due obstructive jaundice. The procedure enabled definitive treatment without need for remaining two patients. Two fascioliasis presentation cholangitis, cholecystitis, jaundice, leading presumptive cholangiocarcinoma.
