摘要: Pulses of an electric field can induce cell fusion (electrofusion) or produce micropores in the membrane allowing materials media to enter (electroporation). These two techniques have wide application science, medicine, and biotechnology (Zimmermann, 1982, 1986; Zimmermann Pilwat, 1982; Hofmann Evans, 1986). This chapter discusses physical aspects design instrumentation for techniques. It includes electrical requirements electrofusion electroporation, generator, chambers large-scale hereafter referred as electromanipulation cells. Not all biological such characteristics various lines (which are subject electromanipulation), genetic selection systems, optimal conditions electroporation been well characterized, but additional information will be found elsewhere this volume.
