To Separate or Not to Separate? Reflections about Current GIR Practice

摘要: Most geographical information retrieval (GIR) systems separate the treatment of and non-geographical part, of- ten called “thematic”. In this paper, we provide an overview practice, advance arguments for against. We also show some experimental results that apparently substantiate non-separation argument. conclude with recommendation practice should receive more attention by GIR commu- nity.
