摘要: Abstract Botrytis cinerea produced lesions on leaves of Vicia faba more rapidly and many spreading develope when inocula contained the iron chelating agents EDTA or DHBA than conidia were inoculated in water alone. Treatment with for 3 h prior to inoculation also resulted increased lesion development. Fe-EDTA Fe-DHBA inoculum drops reduced formation a very low level no developed. had little effect germination glass slides but slightly stimulatory appressoria formation. percentage below 5% produced. At leaf surface, however, both stimulated by whereas compared controls. Phytoalexins accumulated restricted caused B. only levels solution at site which remained symptomless. The importance aggressiveness infecting V. faba, 2 other pathogens their host, is discussed.
