摘要: : Two distinctive, independently developed technologies, geographic information systems (GIS) and predictive water resource models, are being interfaced with varying degrees of sophistication in efforts to simultaneously examine spatial temporal phenomena. Neither technology was initially interact the other, as a result, multiple approaches interface GIS models exist. Additionally, continued model enhancements development graphical user interfaces (GUIs) have encouraged application “suites” for evaluation visualization engineering problems. Currently, disparities scales, data accessibility, modeling software preferences, computer resources availability prevent universal interfacing approach. This paper provides state-of-the-art critical review current trends models. Emphasis is placed on discussing limitations efficient potential future directions, including recommendations overcoming many challenges.
