摘要: Bitter fennel (Foeniculum vulgare Mill. var. vulgare, Apiaceae) is a common perennial hemicryptophyte, used since antiquity as medicinal and aromatic herb in the Mediterranean basin. We describe anatomical specialization some of factors that affect phenylpropene accumulation fruits t-anethole-rich chemotype during development. Histological examination by longitudinal sections indicated each oil duct an elongated cavity with series internal septa at 200-400 μm intervals. Oleoresin accompanied increase area, observed transversal cross early stages development (from yellow bud stage to open flower stage).
