摘要: Abstract Subarctic marine sediments amended with various organic compounds were exposed to fresh Cook Inlet crude oil at a concentration of 50 ppt for either 6 or 8 months. After the initially treated, they returned approximate location where collected and left be natural environmental conditions until retrieved analysis. As result treatment, activities enzymes that hydrolyse structural polysaccharides reduced storage stimulated. In addition these changes, we observed changes in phosphatase activity, nitrogen fixation rates, potential denitrification methane concentrations, CO 2 production glucose uptake mineralization rates. The effect perturbation was different depending on compound used sediments. Many differences could explained by hydrolases which responsible degrading question. results this study suggest microbial processes may affected type material present impacted sediment. This also illustrates value measuring hydrolase activity studies designed determine effects any other pollutant
