摘要: Abstract Although wildlife tourism is becoming increasingly popular worldwide, the industry has a potential to affect fauna it targets. A variety of methods are used monitor activities and impacts tourism. In South Australia, mandatory logbook reporting ability photograph identify individual sharks provides two industry-based data sources how cage-diving may impact white sharks. Findings show that both can assess shark populations, detect seasonal sex-biased changes in abundance. Photo-ID significantly underestimates effort days number sighted, considerably more labour-intensive, but allows accurate identification sharks, facilitating additional analysis. The continued use optimum long-term monitoring method, although we recommend maintenance photographic database for periodic extraction information. Combining these will facilitate an ongoing adaptive management framework, aiding sustainability industry.
